Dr. Zamip Patel is a Urologist with fellowship training in Andrology/Male Infertility. He has been in practice since 2011 in Orlando. He conducted his residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and his Andrology fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is Medical Director of Cryos International, the largest sperm bank in the world. He also holds numerous faculty and board positions in the fields of Urology and Reproductive Medicine both locally and nationally. He has received numerous awards in the field.
Dr. Patel is an expert on male reproduction, and microsurgical techniques related to the male reproductive organ tract. He has held multiple hospital and medical group leadership positions, including Chief of Staff at AdventHealth East Orlando. Primary research interests include function, surgery, and pathology of male reproductive organs and gametes.
Dr. Zamip Patel was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and spent his early years there before his family relocated to Porterville, California, a small town on the foothills of the Sequoias. Growing up in Porterville, he was exposed to the diverse cultures and experiences that California has to offer. He grew up against this backdrop far from the city landscape normally associated with California, in an area known for its agriculture. He spent his weekends camping and hiking in the Sierra Nevada’s, and his formative years around farming communities. As he navigated his formative years, Dr. Patel developed a deep passion for the medical sciences and a keen interest in helping others.
In pursuit of his academic aspirations, Dr. Patel attended a boarding school near Santa Barbara, where he honed his academic skills and gained a well-rounded education. This preparatory experience served as a solid foundation for his subsequent endeavors.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Patel was accepted into the esteemed University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he embarked on a rigorous undergraduate program. At UCLA, Dr. Patel immersed himself in the study of biological sciences, maintaining a stellar academic record while actively engaging in extracurricular activities and leadership roles. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and English in less than 4 years. His dedication and commitment to excellence garnered him recognition and admiration from both peers and faculty.
After initially considering a laboratory and research position in basic science but driven by his desire to pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Patel embarked on a new chapter in his academic journey by attending Ross University School of Medicine. Ross University provided him with an enriching experience, combining medical education with a diverse and multicultural environment. Dr. Patel excelled in his studies, demonstrating not only academic prowess but also a deep empathy for patients and a genuine passion for urology.
Following his successful completion of medical school with honors, Dr. Patel pursued a highly competitive residency program in Urology at the renowned Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. During his residency, he acquired invaluable clinical skills, working alongside esteemed experts in the field. Dr. Patel was recognized for his exceptional surgical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and his ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
Driven by his desire to further specialize in the field of Andrology, Dr. Patel pursued a fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). This prestigious fellowship program allowed him to refine his expertise in the treatment of male reproductive and sexual health disorders. Under the guidance of world-renowned mentors, Dr. Patel gained proficiency in advanced surgical techniques and contributed to groundbreaking research in the field.
